Another ‘wunderkind’ from the Netherlands. Nick Rotteveel, better known as Nicky Romero, got his break in 2012 and has since then skyrocketed through EDM space. Praised by his peers of having a significant contribution to the status the EDM industry has today, and with titles to his name such as producer and label head, Nicky Romero is a true advocate for the industry. He has worked with only the greatest such as Tiësto, Fedde Le Grand, Afrojack, Sander van Doorn and produced the smash hit ‘I could be the one’ with none other than Avicii. But his most proclaimed partnership is the one he has with his mentor, David Guetta. In 2012 Nicky Romero released a bootleg version of the Frenchman’s hit ‘When love takes over’ which got picked up by the masses and by Guetta himself. The superstar DJ offered him a residency at his infamous F*ck Me I’m Famous nights at Pacha and Ushuaia Ibiza. Romero accepted and the rest is history. Since then Nicky Romero has toured the globe, delivering monstrous sets at festivals such as Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas and Tomorrowland. During Amsterdam Dance Event 2012 he furthermore released his radio show Protocol Radio and has gained a following of over 20 million listeners since then. It seems that Nicky Romero will follow into his mentor’s footsteps and establishes a long and successful career.
