Sometimes there isn’t an extraordinary story, sometimes a young artist just starts making great music which due to 21st (social) media century gets in the hands of an established artist who thinks 'damn, great music'. This was the case for Porter Robinson. Born in 1992, Porter is from an age that if you’re able to get your hands on the right equipment, then there’s a global platform for you to release your music on. His first track ‘Say my Name’ reached a #1 position on the Beatport’s Electro House Chart, but it was his track ‘Spitfire’ that got signed by Skrillex and got released on the DJs record label OWSLA. Things just skyrocketed from there on, and all of that in the same year as his 18th birthday. He’s remixed for fellow DJ Avicii and mega pop star Lady Gaga. After touring with Skrillex, Porter joined Tiësto on his infamous College Invasion Tour letting the USA know that he’d arrived. That same year he also took the stage at events such as Electric Daisy Carnival and Ultra Music Festival. International stardom also came in 2012 when he released his track ‘Languages’ which reached the Dance charts overseas. He was able to accomplish this again with his 2013 track ‘Easy’ which was released under the Ministry of Sound label that features artists such as DJ Fresh, Bingo Players and Duke Dumont. Reaching the top solely on talent, the sky is the limit for this product of a new EDM era.
